Retreat 2010: Seoul

Theme: WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND?

What are the issues and concerns that are foremost on the minds of Asian leaders of our generation? The first Fireside Retreat in Seoul, Korea will gather young Korean and Japanese leaders from various sectors for a weekend to lay the foundation for personal and leadership support network in the region.  The focus of the retreat will specifically NOT be about exchanging business cards but about taking our work hats off and putting on the human hats for the weekend.  We will discuss where we are in our lives and how we are doing.

Program

The first Fireside retreat program will be about a fun weekend with friends, getting to know each other and the home culture of our friends. The main part of the retreat will be private conversations among ourselves about what’s on our minds. Participants will be expected to show respect for each other and abide by the rule of absolute confidentiality as we exchange personal stories about our life experiences. As Fireside retreats are also designed to introduce the members to each other’s cultures, there will be trips to both the Northern and Southern parts of Seoul to see the contrast between the traditional and ultra modern cultures of the Korean capital city. On the last day, there will be a discussion with a member of the Korean president’s office about Korea’s Green Growth initiative.
