Fireside is a community of leaders from Korea, Japan, and the Greater China who are committed to personal growth, leadership with integrity, and deepening inter-cultural cooperation in Asia.

The core of the Fireside vision is to create a friendship network of leaders across the region who support and inspire each other to become better individuals. The complexity of challenges leaders face today in both personal and professional life mandates a strong sense of core values. Fireside aims to be the peer group that leaders can check into to find a trusted sounding board. We believe in relationships built over time and strengthened by sharing a common history. The name Fireside symbolizes our aspiration to build a community of warmth and mutual trust as if we were sitting by the fire sharing heartfelt and personal moments of openness.

Fireside is also a platform for thought leadership and inter-cultural cooperation in the region. We aim to find common grounds of values that transcend national borders while having respect for the diverse historical and cultural backgrounds of the members. In collaboration with local institutions, Fireside retreats explore and support various cultural projects in order to build relationships with the local community. In doing so, we make the communities we visit our “second homes” and become their cultural ambassadors to the outside world. As Asia’s role becomes increasingly important in global affairs, we hope to become bridges of amity and cooperation in the region.

Fireside members are leaders from many different sectors including business, government, civil society and academia. Membership is by invitation by current members and is open to not only Asians but to people of all nationalities who embrace the Fireside values.
