Theme : Nara Film Festival

Returning to the ancient city of Nara for the second time, Fireside members will have an opportunity to become more closely involved in the local cultural life by attending and showing support for the Nara Film Festival.

Program :

Fireside members are invited to walk down the red carpet at the Nara Film Festival Opening Ceremony as the festival’s International Advisors. Members will view the film directed by the winner of the festival and attend the outdoor cultural performance in the evening. Various films will be shown throughout different parts of Nara, and members are invited to enjoy them as much we can. On Day 2 of the retreat, a special private talk will be given by the Chief Abbot of the Todaiji Temple on the history of the founding of Japan which will provide us with a rich context for better understanding Nara.
